About the Photographer 

 

I began to take photographs as a young adult and became excited by what I could achieve through photography as a medium.  I now live as both painter and photographer with a mission to recreate my vision, viewing light and being inspired by all that it can bring about, by way of lifting a scene through colour, shape and form and the various hues that will continually be transformed by the ever shifting presence of the sun.  Along the way I have studied photography both as a skill and academically, and I have used it as a tool to work with, both in the business world as well as in my own.  My images have been published in books, magazines and newspapers worldwide, and I have trekked to some of the furthest corners to reach the images I desire to obtain.  In today's world the image has now become a form of language, we now live in a semiotic world that speaks to us through a visual understanding of all that goes on around us.  My photography aims to speak of that world in which we live, the beauty that is always in existence, even in the ugliest scene, at the very least through a different way of observing and taking time to look and really see.
